If Kerry gets Rubin as VP, I will vote for him. My primary concern at this moment, given that we are in iraq and whats done is done, is the economic team for the next 4 years. This team can't cut it, they are too ideological and relying on theory to bail them out. I don't think comparative advantage works with an IP economy personally, because you are building knowledge in your workers as well as building a product and that was never a part of the 200 year old Ricardo comparative advantage theory. When Greg Mankiw said all this offshoring is "good for the economy" I knew he didn't have enough practical experience to see what was really happening at least in technology. We are training our future competitors and giving an industry away. Thats what I think. But anyway in the near term we need to deal with the matters at hand and cut spending dramatically even military and get some job growth going, this is the harsh reality. You can't run an economy with a 600 billion dollar deficit for long with no job growth.

Lets say tomorrow Bush admitted we have serious economic problems and fired Snow, Chao and Evans and brought in a nonpartisan superstar team who immediately flew to China and revalued that Yuan instead of making excuses then I'd likely vote for Bush. Is that going to happen, doesn't look like it.
