If I am going to vote for someone, that person has to convince me that he is honest and smart, or both. Any other combination, he does not have to prove.

But, if that person NEEDS my vote, then, if the burden of an allegation has been made, he will have the burden of proving that he is honest and smart.

And you can trust me on this one, I have no duty to find out for myself, especially if there is evidence being withheld.

And I think you are beginning to see that the rest of the voter population feels the same.

Normally, politics is like a sausage factory. You don't care nor want to care how it gets made, as long as it is done.

But if it is not getting done, then you have to go to the factory to witness the process.
