Brumar, your post talks about intelligence. I have never heard Kerry talk about intelligence or even the intelligence being doctored to roduce the effect that some in the Administration may have had. Kerry is not going to make intelligence an issue and probably because he is a member of the intelligence committee. And even if some of his Democratic colleagues may attempt to charge people in the Bush Administration about doctoring the intelligence, he will not be a part of that effort.

His issue with Bush is unilateralism. That Bush went to war unilaterally and did not "exhaust all means to prevent war." His issue is he rushed to war. And in support of that charge, he says that Bush did not even want to take some more time to verify the US intelligence reports. Something like giving the international weapons inspectors more time. Now there are people (not Kerry) who charge that if Bush had given the weapons inspectors more time and still they could not find any WMD, then his deisgn to attack Iraq "no matter what" would be in jeopardy.

So that aside, Kerry issue is that Bush did not exhaust all means and rushed into war. If Kerry did not vote for the war, then he would suffer the same fate as Kuchinich. But now that he voted for it and is challenging Bush on his decision to go to war, the American people feel that he has the right to challenge Bush and bring his case to the people.
