I'd guess the defense didn't want her to take the stand because she might have said something that coulda been shown to be a lie. Their thinking could have been, why chance having her perjure herself and add to her sentence, if she were found guilty.

We all know why they went after her.

I wrote her a long email letter. Hope she thinks about doing what I suggested.
