Jeffrey;
Discerning the degree Martha Stewarts guilt or how important she is does not deal with the paramount issue.
As a matter of fact that flies in the face of what really matters. The Stock Exchange has had but one competitive edge over every other market in this world. And that is integrity. Nothing can sap the growth, and enthusiasm of any market quicker that dishonesty on all levels. I even more greatly resent your primise that The SEC could run out of funds to prosecute. Thats a joke and you know it. Anyone taking a brokers oath and license is subject to this burden of trust right down to making correct change. Let's get the message out if words ever meant anything and an oath is an oath then if you're caught in the slightest betrayal of the Public Trust you pay according to the law. I just finished a career where every transaction with my client was subject to fine and imprisonment if missrepresented. Martha Stewart was a broker at one time she knew better. But then again who is to say how arrogant one can become. YOu be the judge.
