A major issue in this election has to be 9/11 and its impact on the US economy and strategy. 9/11 happened. It is real - it could happen again. 9/11 had a devastating impact on the US economy.

That 9/11 happened when Bush has been in office for 9 months goes to show the failure of this Administration. Bush let down this nation's vigilance and the terrorists struck. 9/11 can happen again if Bush keeps going the way he has such as fighting terrorism in isolation without much support from the international intelligence agencies is a long hard climb and he may never get there.

Kerry has outlined his plan to fight terror effectively. As his first step in that direction, he will mend relations with the European nations, provide other alliances such as NATO, UN etc. a greater role. And while they are at work, he will step up vigilance to thwart any efforts of the terrorists to bring their strikes within the shores of the US.
