If I owned an SUV, after reading this, I would sell it immediately out of embarrassment. :)

internal industry market research concluded that S.U.V.s tend to be bought by people who are insecure, vain, self-centered, and self-absorbed, who are frequently nervous about their marriages, and who lack confidence in their driving skills

We are not prestige car people, though. My requirement is that it runs when I turn the key, is new enough that I can blame the dealer when something goes wrong, and has a good radio/CD player.

You know, we have friends who just bought a big SUV because their accountant told them they could save a lot of money in taxes if he used it for work (he is a realtor)and it met the size requirement.
I hope COngress closes this loophole. I feel sure that the deduction was meant for small business owners who really need a small truck or van -- plumber, electrician-- not the urban realtor in his very expensive SUV.
