A solution to her problem, being caught between a rock and a hard place after her broker told her insider info, may have been for him to tell her to buy a put option. I do not know if the SEC would approve of that or not. She would have not profited by it, but would have saved taking a stock loss. The SEC is surpossed to protect stock holders but they did not protect her. If your broker tells you insider info be sure and sit there like a dummy and lose money on your stock, ok?
