I hope some of you watched Victor Davis Hanson on "Book TV in Depth" on CSPAN 2 today. It will be repeated in less than an hour at 5PM EST today. Tape it if you have a chance. The comment that impressed me the most was on Education. While discussing it, he said. "My parents got as good an education by 8th grade as I had when I graduated from High School. I got as good a HS education thirty years ago as the average College Graduate gets today." I have been saying this about myself for 30 years. :>) He went on to say that what has happened is that there are only so many hours in a childs day, and too many of the educational hours are on non-basic subjects.
