GE DILUTES SHARES

FOLKS ,

Shares of General Electric fell after the company said it would raise about $3.8 billion through an offering of about 118 million shares of common stock.

WHY is a co. with 134 Billion in revenue , that had 15 Billion in NET PROFITS , that pays out 7.7 Billion in dividends , that has 13 Billion in cash on the books AND 121 Billion in Investment securities on the books DILUTING ?

WHY are they SELLING MORE SHARES to raise funds when the co. has 134 BILLION in cash and MARKETABLE SECURITIES ON THE BOOKS and is making 15 BILLION IN PROFITS ?

I thought ONLY FONAR DILUTES .

So tell me folks WHY is GE DILUTING ?
