Kerry added that terrorists "whose only object is to disrupt society require no such 'role models [as Arafat].' " Things have to be read in context. When I read these statements, my understanding is that Kerry feels that Arafat's newfound "respectability" will encourage terrorism. Kerry is condemning Arafat, not praising him. [Edit: after reading the thing for a fourth time, I have to admit I have no idea what the hell he is trying to say]
