There is no evidence that US did anything but bring Aristide to safety. In fact, the French were more the movers earlier and more forceful.

US would have been criticized, and the criticisms were already starting, for doing nothing or delaying during killings, see also Liberia..

If Aristide wishes, he can get on a commercial plane and come back. Would you like to accompany him?
