Nasdaq breadth and volume data support index slide ($COMPQ) By Tomi Kilgore
NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - Breadth on the Nasdaq exchange looks pretty bad, but volume data is even worse. The Nasdaq Arms Index, which relates breadth to up and down volume, was last 1.91 -- readings above "1" are considered bearish. Decliners outnumberd advancers by a 1,978 to 1,143 margin, but the volume of stocks losing ground pummeled up volume by a 1.24 billion shares to 374 million shares score. The Nasdaq Composite ($COMPQ) was last down 33 points, or 1.6 percent, at 2,015.
