Pretty much anything you can think of would give insight to some one, I guess, if it contained information new to that person about something -- for example, about human nature.

I don't think witnessing a couple of hours of realistically portrayed torture is simply without value for children. I suspect it's a much more negative experience than that.

Various things relating to that film, around it, also provide insight into human nature.

As does the Inquisition.

You know, I'm surprised no one has shown up to rationalize and minimize the Inquisition. Everything happens on SI, and though I don't recall who was the Inquisition-trivializer, there was at least one the last time the subject came up. Talk about insights into human nature!
