9/11 Families Support Bush Ad

A group of 9/11 victim families has issued an open letter to America in support of President Bush's campaign ad invoking the World Trade Center attacks.

"There is no better testament to the leadership of President Bush than Sept. 11," said the letter, signed by 22 people who lost loved ones in the attacks. "In choosing our next leader we must not forget that day if we are to have a meaningful conversation."

The group, many of whom are families of firefighters who died in the attacks, came forward in response to attacks on the Bush ad by other 9/11 victim families, some of who are members of the left wing group "9/11 Families for Peaceful Tomorrows," which is bankrolled by a charitable trust chaired by Teresa Heinz Kerry.

After three days of mainstream media accounts airing the complaints of the anti-Bush group, Jimmy Boyle, former president of the of the Uniformed Firefighters Association, said he was compelled to speak out.

"I don't think he's taking advantage of Sept. 11, and I feel he's given us the leadership that we need," Boyle told the Associated Press.

Boyle said that he disagrees with Bush on virtually every domestic issue, but because of his strong leadership in the war on terror, will be voting Republican for the first time in his life.
