CBOT corn and soy up sharply late, Carr buys corn

CHICAGO, March 9 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade (News - Websites) corn and soybean futures rebounded sharply to the day's highs late Tuesday amid commodity fund buying, traders said.
Carr Futures bought 1,000 lots of May corn and Iowa Grain was a noted late buyer of soy, they said.

Soybeans were up half the daily trading limit with 30 minutes of trading left in the day. At 12:48 p.m. CST (1848 GMT), CBOT soy was up 6 cents to 24 cents per bushel, with May (SK4) up 23 at $9.40. Corn was up 2 cents to 8-1/4 cents per bushel, with May (CK4) up 8-1/2 at $3.01.
