The index of Same Home Prices from 1980 to the present is interesting. Don't forget about the huge decline in home prices from 1990 through 1996.

Here is a chart of annual price changes from 1989 through 1999, which RERC has previously made public.

You can purchase the entire series for a membership fee of $650. All of the banks and home-builders in Southern California are members. It lets them know what is really happening.

It's interesting to note that not one real estate brokerage firm has chose to be a member.
