if thats what Zander wanted then that would have been better than what I heard, but then of course the question is, what exactly IS that vertical where sun could live and prosper? The high end scientific "vertical" is taken by Cray. The consumer electronics/computing vertical is probably Apple or maybe Palm. Workstations don't have their own vertical anymore. There are lots of verticals in software. Lots of new verticals emerging in security for example. But Sun has never been a software company.
