It appears that GMST's appeal from the FTC has been dismissed. The general tech market is red, but this might be the reason for the greater drop in GMST than the general market.

The failure to review the appeal may indicate that the patents at issue were without question uninfringed, making Henry's claims to them dubious.

Still, GMST has a deep patent arsenal, particularly as we get to the more sophisticated functionality, and as NY Stew states, is probably why they received these up-front payments by so many other players.

But I think this might explain the drop in the price. It may indeed be overdone as I think essentially no one counted on this lawsuit being coming back on appeal in GMST's favor, in the manner that RMBS experienced. In this case a dead cat is a dead cat.
