TC and all,

I'm getting a new Dell desktop later this week. Before I ever introduce it to the net, what are some things I should, emphasis, should load on to it first? Right now, I'm getting popups on this HP faster than I can dump them, and that's after activating PanicWare's Pop-up stopper. I want to protect that new machine like a daddy with a virgin 16 year old beautiful daughter.
