Yep, I think a correction is healthy after a nice run...but a massacre...after the 3 year massacre we already endured, could harm the equities markets forever. Look how much money was lost during 00,01 and 02. People were hurt, and hurt bad.....Now, with naz sitting at 2k, if we see 900 on naz, that will be more then a 50% drop in the INDEX, but as we all know, 80% of the stocks will go down 75% or more, with a few bucking the trend....if people go thru that, they will be so devistated, they will swear off equities forever and be happy with some low yield GUARANTEED return in bonds, cd's or whatever. After all, it is better to make 3 or 4% then lose 50 - 90%, and if the equities market again has a massacre, many people will simply give up on it for good......if your my age ( 40), you are beginning to think down the road and if we pull a japan and have 20 years of hurt, it aint going to be pretty for folks my age.....
