Stewart's Brother Compares Case To 'Passion' Movie
Estranged Brother Says He Wept When Verdict Announced

POSTED: 10:02 a.m. EST March 10, 2004

NEW YORK -- Martha Stewart's estranged brother compared her case with how Jesus is portrayed in a new movie.

On NBC's "Today" show, Frank Kostyra said Stewart's ordeal is almost similar to what director Mel Gibson portrayed in the movie "The Passion of The Christ."

The movie gives a graphic account of the final moments of the life of Jesus.

Kostyra said he was shocked by the guilty verdict in Stewart's stock fraud trial and wept when it was announced.

He said Stewart could face prison time and compared the situation with his service in the Vietnam War. He said Vietnam wasn't a place he wanted to be, but that he did his duty.

Kostyra also said he's coming out with a book about his relationship with Stewart.
