Hi Tenpoint and All. First tier and generic drugs.
Very interesting that this subject about drugs is so on your mind. I notice that you are a new poster with 2 posts, both about this subject. If you had a profile where I could tell where your thoughts are coming from, it would help. It's not always easy to discuss things when it's kind of a shot in the dark.
I will only add one more time to this. You are one of those people who think that the world is here to provide things for you without being able to reap a profit. Well, it does not work like this. Those high paid researchers ( really are not always that highly paid) work hard at what they do, so you can live long to complain about it. Healthcare research does not provide that big of a profit. It takes about 12 years to come up with a usable product that will be approved by the FDA. Investors in those companies stick their neck out with their hard earned money to provide this research for you. So when one of the companies finally comes out with a usable product, they don't have that much time left on their patents to recoup their investment. Once the patent expires, generic drug companies are free to market those drugs, without any R&D investment. Now if those generic drug companies can come up with life saving drugs, more power to them. But please, don't knock the top tier pharmaceuticals. You could very well shoot yourself in the foot. Sorry, I am very tired of people like you, continuosly badmouthing hard working researchers. Where do you fit in helping society? I am sure that you will instruct your doctor from now on only to prescribe generic drugs for you, that will help Mylan. I personally like the best available drugs and are perfectly happy to wait until those generic drug companies can produce them and even then I want to make sure what generic drug company provides it. There are countries where I would not like to take my chances with. And in the meantime some new improvement may come out. I do not like certain drugs being switched on me and have the Govt. mandate the use of generic only. How would we ever get new and better drugs? Maybe you could use your third post to explain "hogwash", on the other hand, never mind.
Regards, one upset researcher.
