Those payments allow industrial-size farms to produce many more acres of crops than are needed for domestic consumption, and they are sold overseas at low, subsidized prices.

This is the key.......its not the individual American farmer who is hurting anyone......they are having as much trouble as the foreign ones. Its the American corporate farmers who are the ones raking in the $$$. I am all for cutting subsidies to them but not to the traditional, mom-and-pop farmers.
