The truth is advancing technology is rapidly rendering the idea of being "rich" less and less of an ultimate goal. When I began grade school there was no such thing as Scotch tape. We used dreary little paste bottles and left school to watch black and white TV. How many of the poor are forced to do without color TV or can't afford transparent tape? Look how cheap a Walkman radio is with good headphones--$10 for some. Schools, banks, and libraries offer free internet access. Computers are getting 30% smaller each succeeding year and when the x-ray chips finally arrive I see the time coming when only the lazy will be poor and those loosely considered to be poor will have access to wonders only a capitalistic-to-the-core unfettered free enterprize system can provide.
