this title "Russia May Delay China Gas Pipeline: lack of demand" makes me laugh! The gas pipeline may be delayed, but must be due to some political reasons, not lack of demand. Because of the power shortage, a lot of cities in China only provide residents 14 hrs. of electricity, and often times the ftp servers where I download some Chinese tv dramas cannot even operate due to lack of electricity. What a "lack of demand"!

Elmat, China's economy slows down because the Chinese gov. is trying its best to MAKE it slow down. But momentum is there. It will take some tremendous effort to make it happen.

Meanwhile, in order to solve the power shortage problem, Chinese gov. now is planning to build a series of 13 dams despite the warning from environmentalists they would alter a unique ecosystem: the canyons of the Nu River.
