You seem to have a reasonable outlook, the market is not the
end all, or the only way to invest in the future.
In fact most of the people I know who have done real
well, did it with out putting money in stocks or bonds or
at least stocks and bonds were secondary and came for most of them
after they retired.

Jim, I did well during the last bull market and stabilized my situation for my family. I cashed out well during the bubble and rarely risk dollars from those winnings. I mostly only commit new dollars to the table, so that I know I can never walk away a loser, ever again. Now return on investment takes a back seat to return of investment.

I use a variety of tactics for gambling in the markets and dollar cost averaging certain things is only one part of my overall strategy. I will and do time trades under exacting conditions. This requires keeping cash available to take advantage of , what I consider to be, proper set ups. IMO, they don't come by too often and I can't watch the entire universe of stocks. So, I limit myself to a handful of things which I consider more important.

I am going to try and catch Pfizer on support.
