It's way too nice, he said, rubbing salt in the wounds of the right coasters. Feels like May in the Bay Area. I am SO tempted to gamble with tomatoes and corn, even tho it is probably a month early.
Had a whooping good surprise while chasing the cows out of my place. (Looks like they are coming thru the creek, which is usually fenced only in the dry season. Ugh). But I digress. I found a Live Oak, about 3 feet high, which I didn't know about.I get oak seeds (most folks mistakenly call them acorns) in the fall when I visit my folks, and stick them here and there. It's a bit colder, wetter, and hotter, depending on the season, than they are used to, but they seem to do ok. I've got one I was able to transplant, which is about 3 1/2 feet tall now. The furthest north I've seen them is just above Ukiah. I'm getting prepared for global warming.
