I agree that deflation could be a wild card, given the fact that very few if any investors around today have ever experienced it and nobody knows for sure how the current group will react to it.

However, are you sure that you are correct in your above-referenced statement? One of the greatest Bears in recent times was 1973-74. I know that interest rates were quite high during this period (the Fed Funds rate was about 10%). There must have been inflation around for the Fed to raise rates this high?
