By the way, if anyone cares.........
Oakley has recently revamped their website. A few interesting changes.
The picture with Jordan wearing the X-Metals and the X Beret, well now, the "X" on the beret is blacked out.
Also, under new inventions, they have a picture icon which looks like the footprint that the astronauts left with their "shoes" on the moon. What do you think that means <g>. There however, is no other reference to it on the site. I wouldn't be surprised if OO is a lot closer to actually marketing those shoes than we think.
Under accessories, they have a backpack, hats, a couple types of shirts, and berets. Some of these they had before, but the backpacks at least are new, and they seem to be ratcheting up the "head to toe" concept.

Point to consider. Shoes are a mass market item. Meaning, you need to advertise a lot, and in larger mediums. Oakley, even with its mysterious type of image that it cultivates, has no history of this type of advertising. Even the big X Metal roll out didn't get any real exposure. And other than the website and a billboard or two, they don't even use Jordan. Point is, will they be able to advertise effectively against those like NIKE who have been doing it for a long time, and more importantly, will they have the $$$$$ to do it.
