Wow! You have an excellent memory. After the late 60s and early 70s, I have a hard time remembering things like that. But you are correct; technology has changed the world significantly.

While I agree that "those loosely considered to be poor will have access to wonders only a capitalistic-to-the-core unfettered free enterprize system can provide," I disagree that "only the lazy will be poor." I think the uneducated will also be poor. Also, those who live for the moment rather than saving for the future, who never learn to budget or save, will be poor, too.
