Elroy, Great post:

RE: "Let me spell it out for you. The Chinese don't care if their wireless standard is better or worse, or even completely useless.

What they care about is Intel can't implement this on their own. Intel would have to work closely with a Chinese partner in order integrate the technology on Intel's chips. The Chinese want Intel to transfer their technology, without charge, to China's designated chip partner.

Luckily the people who run Intel are way ahead of you on this.

On the other hand, General Motors is stil run by some American blow-hards. They provided their state of the art technology to their Chinese partner in order to produce the Chevy Spark. Five days after the car was released, the Chinese partner released the identical automobile called the Cherry for 30% less. GM and U.S. Trade Officials said blah, blah, blah, blah, as blow-hards are wont to do while the Chinese yawned and continue to sell the Cherry. Wait till you see the successor to the Cherry. "

Elroy, It's unreal the USA gov't doesn't take any action against China due to the GM theft, the motorola theft, hightech entrepreneurs theft, etc. etc.

Even Turkey put the criminals behind bars that stole $1.5B from motorola. What does China do? Seemingly encourages their citizens to steal even more IP by not enforcing IP laws !

They have a lawless land, endorsed by their gov't.

IP theft needs to stop.

There are bigger and better markets than China elsewhere - that enforces IP laws. India for one. The world needs to shift their hightech focus onto these other countries, and probably wait until China gets their IP enforcement in gear. Africa has nearly a billion people too. Maybe it's time for the hightech industry to begin focusing our investments into India and Africa, until China gets their IP enforcement in gear.

Regards,
Amy J
