Dear laura,

I really appreciate the civility of Lou Dobbs as he systematically demolishes the pretensions and the puffery of the Bush mouthpieces like David Dreier.

As you note, Dreier's credibility is stretched beyond the breaking point at this time. But alas, only with those of us who never really trusted him to begin with.

It's going to take more that sniping and vulgar language to move the middle away from their comfort zone with the Republicans. For all too many Republicans, they still see Bush and Dreier as honorable men. Or at least useful to the business agenda.

What we need to do is to convince the independents and the thinking Republicans that they are being sold down the river by Bush's insane war mongering and ludicrous economic and immigration policies.

Potty mouthed attacks probably won't sway this crowd. We apparently already have the Howard Stern crowd on, ahem, "our side". FWIW. <gg>
