Hi Patrick,

Are you sure it's the cable, and not the hardware like the modem, router, etc?

I have had cable for about 6 months here in LA, and trees are all over the communication lines around my house but the connection has been virtually as reliable as the DSL I had before, but 3MBps instead of 500 KBps with DSL.

However, getting my router to work with the cable modem proved to be quite a challenge.

Have you tried sending killer over to shake someone by the lapels until you get what you want? I've heard that works pretty well up in your neck of the woods.
