How about this: Get a coalition together, US, hopefully NATO (France can stay out if they want- -who cares?), Russia. The coalition guarantees the existing borders against armed invasion by neighbors. Attackers can expect at least tactical nukes- -no screwing around. Any nation knowingly harboring or encouraging terrorists to attack any other nation in the region gets the same treatment. How likely do you think it is Syria or Iran would take on US fleet ballistic missile subs?
