I had a '78 Scout transmission rebuilt in '97. It was completely out and wouldn't move at all. That cost about $350. I do know you can't rebuild a regular front wheel drive transmission for under 2k. They don't last as long as rear wheel either because they are not as beefy due to limited space in the front. * * *
