UN does not go in as an aggressor. The US was an aggressor and violated the sovereignty of Iraq. It lied about WMD, the potential for "imminent threat" and projected the situation in Iraq as something similar to Afghanistan. While Afghanistan was true and the UN did not stand in Us's way, they were against US entering Iraq since they knew that Iraq had not violated the WMD agreements. We thought they did. We doctored up evidence.

People in the US are now convinced that Iraq was a misadventure. And with everyday, support for Iraq is going down. People are realizing that Bushies did it all on their own. They should have gone along with the UN's suggested approach and they would not be in such a sorry state.

Let us wait and see if the Arabs will embrace democracy after the US troops leave Iraq. Right now Sistani is doing everything, agreeing to anything to ensure that US leaves Iraq by June 30. Then who knows what Iraq will get into.
