Sorry about the taxes- ick. You can rent Butterfly- your library may have a copy. It's well worth seeing- and one of the better operas for people who don't love opera (imo). I DID have a wonderful time. And my students often bring siblings, grandparents, and parents- so I get to meet families, which is always nice (and of course I take my own kids to see the operas- also a plus). A lot of the kids' families have never seen an opera, so frequently its a first for the entire family- and they seem to really relish the experience.
