I wouldn't mind paying my fair share of taxes if it were explained to me why this were my fair share. After all, I do use government services, and I should pay for them.

but those who bandy about the term carefully leave it undefined, and therefore meaningless, merely a soothing noise designed to make me feel as though somebody picking my pocket is really just doing me a favor.
