"Two decades"?
That's a little optimistic, don't you think?
After-all, can you name another of these open-ended things that has *ever* wrapped up that fast?
Cold War (what, 40 - 50 yrs?), War on Drugs (endless), War on Poverty (hasn't exactly got a finish line, does it?)....
With well over 1 Billion Islamic peoples in the world, and lots of problems with poverty, lack of jobs, education, no Democracy and little human rights, in vast stretches of the globe where Islamic peoples live (& the CIA warning that it's more important to know how many new terrorist recruits are produced then how many are 'eliminated')... not to mention the age-old conflicts between the world's two expansionist 'Desert Religions', Christianity and Islam... I would guess that this is - at best - a multi-generational problem. |
