The problem with education is that the solution is politically incorrect. If anyone does not understand that consider? 1. Parents are the key to education. Saying the status of parenting in America is the problem - try it and see what happens. 2. Current pop icons are the worst possible examples to the youth. Clinton had his sister Solje moment - does anyone dare today? 3. Slick Willy himself - no matter how great the moral degradation - many said it did not matter - it was all about personal stuff - absolutely disgraceful. 4. Peer group leadership - how many of the leadership of the under priviliged do not blame others for their problems? 5. Teachers Unions - money to education gets sucked into salaries - what did Paige call them - was it education Nazis? 6. School board corruption and/or stupidity - I believe the highest per captia spending on students is in Washington DC - with terrible results. Where does school system money go? Here in Cleveland we have a couple of financial disasters that are failures of school boards. Janitors make more than teachers - cannot fight a janitors union! The whole subject is disgusting. Money is not the issue - standards and discipline are.
