American subsidies may be part of the problem but Brazil has a much bigger overall problem.....inefficient farming. Have you heard of the slash and burn method of farming? That is the method popular in Brazil. Slash and burn is a popular method for small farmers trying to scratch out a living on the frontier. Not for the large farms or for the people that produce most of Brazil's agricultural exports. Tim
