Sentience and sapience are products of consciousness. So would you value a being who is sentient and sapient higher than a zygote which has no consciousness whatsoever?

I would consider all members of the human species (and probably other sentient sapient species) to be in the same general category. If forced to, I might make distinctions within that category (like saving a 5 year old child rather then a 50 year old man) but outside of the "you can save only one, who do you pick" scenarios I would try to save any sentient sapient beings life. The exception would be that I would not save someone like Osama bin Laden who is a danger to others. He has basically declared war on the US and if he gets shot by some special forces team I won't shed a tear for him, but if you are talking about innocent people (or at least relatively innocent all of us except perhaps babies have probably done something wrong but few people are terrorist murderers), then there lives do deserve protection.
