In comparison to what - job recovery? There is nothing different now than then. The talk about globalization is what I do not buy, no matter how hard the Bushies are trying to sell. Pure and simple, you take your goods overseas not jobs. All the textile jobs went overseas and new jobs were created instead. There was no globalization then? The difference now is the Bush economic team has no clue on "job churning" and what new jobs to create. Al they know is military and military warfare.
