I've always been a history buff, so genealogy just came naturally when I discovered the gold mine of resources on the internet. Sometimes the answer is right under our noses. I searched for yrs to identify my paternal family roots, then one day called an elderly former neighbor & asked if she knew where I could find my ggrdparent' church records. Couldn't believe my good fortune, when she said the records were placed in her care yrs ago after church terminated services. It's such a thrill when there's a major breakthrough.

Many people have the patience to hunt down every family birth & death cert, they then place the research in prescribed genealogy format on Rootsweb or Genforum. All my info is somewhere in this computer, which reminds me--better backup my latest discoveries ASAP.
