LP - It is quite possible IMO for the anti-dollar crowd to be WRONG (over the short to mid term here).

1) If Europe headss into a recession they will cut. That will support the US$.
2) Even if they do not cut, a recession there with a supposedly stronger US$ would do it alone.

I am indeed wondering if gold is gonna get hammered.
Gold refuasal to go up with treasuries headed lower is NOT a combination we have seen for quite some time. I do not like it. Could it be a gold shakeout? Sure. Could it be the prelude to a mad dash back into the US$ on the "strength" of the US economy (It's a good thing I ate a lot earlier).

As stupid as it seems I can make a case for the US$ here.
