AS, "Clinton created 22 million jobs"

Things were extremely good under Clinton.

But I wish Clinton and Congress had shored up even more savings during the good years. They should have worked harder to pay off the large debts from the Reagan/Bush years. The total accumulated debt to GDP ratio was too high, given the good economy Clinton created.

People complain about Carter, but if you look at the debt-to-GDP ratio, it was the lowest under Carter than any other President since the Great Depression (and possibly even over the past 100 years.)

But Clinton's enthusiasm certainly created a confident environment for corporations to feel confident in hiring.

Bush is random, creates a random war and this makes too many businesspeople nervous to hire - businesspeople do not like leaders who create random wars or who take random, unexpected action. We need predictability that's communicated clearly and confidently.

Regards,
Amy J
