I've been following this thread for a long time, and I guess I'm known as a lurker, because I rarely post ... but I have to ask - "What planet do you live on?" From the tone of this thread, you would think that everybody is out of work, and the world is coming to an end. Well, when I look around, all I see is prosperity and wealth. If the economy is so bad, how can you have record new home sales, and massive real estate price appreciation? Record new car sales, record luxury car sales and record luxury goods sales. The stock market has made a huge rally, and I don't know the actual stats, but more people are traveling then ever before, and they eat out more frequently. I personally know very few people who are financially suffering. So tell me ... where is all the doom and gloom!!!

P.S. This is not meant to be a confrontational post, just a statement of my actual observations. I live in South Florida, and personally, I don't see the gloom and even when I visit my home state of Iowa, all I see is new Beemers and new cars, and big new houses! People don't spend when they're out of work, or unsure about their financial security!!!! |
