I don't know how to cook them. When in California though, one guy told me that once a rattlesnake started to eat, they had to finish and couldn't spit out a meal because of the fangs. My buddies and I gave one of the rattlers a mouse to eat and when his mouth was full I picked him up. That story I had been told about them not being able to spit out a meal was bull, because he started spitting that mouse out real fast and he was pissed.
