I know. I hear Intergraph ported it to SPARC - then had no use for it...

HP are dumping PA-RISC etc. in favour of Merced - which will be
running NT ].

But it's not really a standard that everyone agrees too. Microsoft
dictate what it does, and everyone else has to follow (that's a
losing game for everyone else).

POSIX is an "open standard", to which NT only has minimal complinace.

A fully POSIX compliant NT would be a more interesting beast.
